(CNN)-"America's Next Top Model" winner Nyle DiMarco is completely deaf, which makes his steamy cha-cha on "Dancing With the Stars" on Monday night that much more impressive.
DiMarco, who blew away the crowd with his performance on the season 22 premiere, can't hear sound or even feel its vibrations.
"It's actually Peta," DiMarco signed, referring to his partner, professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd. "I follow her with my eyes."
DiMarco, ABC meteorologist Ginger Zee and Boyz II Men singer Wanya Morris all tied for first place with 23 out of 30 points from the judges in the two-hour premiere Monday night.
